The client wanted a very innovative navigation system that was fun and usable. The client used a cube to represent his team and his Technology Blueprint. He left it up to me to design a navigation system around this blue cube. I gave the user three connected ways to navigate based on their comfort level ranging from traditional to experiential. Bread-crumbing allowed the user to keep their place on the page.
I continue to show this piece because it was my first design dedicated only to navigation. This was done in 2001, but this navigation structure is similar to some of the structures used on today's touch-based mobile devices.
